Terrific Conference Bargains by Terry Burns

For those who might live in proximity to upper East Texas, I have a terrific conference bargain for you. The East Texas Christian Writing Conference is a 2 day conference beginning with pre-conference sessions at 3 pm Friday October 28th and wraps up at 4:30 pm on Saturday. It is held on the East Texas Baptist University campus in Marshall, Texas. Registration until the 21st is only $80.

That's a whale of a bargain for a conference packed with content (see the
faculty and programs at http://www.etbu.edu/news/cwc ) and for a chance to pitch agents and editors. I've been hearing some writers say they just can't  put a conference into their budget this year as many of them can run $500-$1000, so here's your chance to remedy that. I've been to this conference several times and have been astounded as to how much content they have packed into such a short time and for such a bargain price.

Conference favorite and best selling author Cec Murphy is going to be there captivating people and heading up the faculty and that alone is worth the trip. I was just with Cec at a conference in Atlanta and everybody loved him.

If you live further West, that doesn't mean you are left out. Saundra and I will be at the 2011 CLASS Christian Writers Conference in Abique NM. This location is the Ghost Ranch and is an awesome retreat setting. Information is at http://www.classeminars.org/

I've done this conference for many years, starting with when it was the Glorieta Writing conference. It too is packed with content but also offers a time of spiritual revival and a chance to reconnect with your craft. With little to compete with you in this retreat setting there is very personal time with editors and agents as well as a lot of one on one work on your writing skills. The conference registration includes lodging in this amazing setting as well as meals and materials. We love this one.

Hope to meet some of you 'in the pines' or 'on the ranch' soon.

Terry

The writing testimony on my website www.terryburns.net came from this conference back when it was the Glorieta writing conference. It is the place where I went to find out how the Lord wanted me to incorporate my faith into my writing, and it turned out to be just the place to come to terms with that.
