Many scholars have reason to believe, both in setting and tone, that Paul's letter to the Galatians was written to a church of Celtic peoples.Laurie Alice Eakeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06362132572312007135noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2443765296489868573.post-4649348266330234352009-11-01T08:25:31.338-05:002009-11-01T08:25:31.338-05:00Hey Diana, Well, I'll tell ye, hun. I was raised in a legalistic cult where we kids did'n git Halloween, Christmas, Birthdays, Easter or anything else that was remotely fun. We got a hard time was what we got. We got measles and mumps on account of our goofy parents thought we could'n git inoculated. So, here's my take. Kids don't know or care about the history of Halloween. They want candy and they wanna dress up like their friends are doin'. They ain't worshippin' the devil, they're just bein' kids. That's just my take. Folks gotta do what they feel the Spirit is leadin' them to do.

Grace and Peace and Love and Turnip Greens to Y'all!
Stevie Rey
Arthur of The Hillbilly BibleStevie Reyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09260760380275308488noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2443765296489868573.post-57070625471518823082009-10-31T21:29:31.902-04:002009-10-31T21:29:31.902-04:00Excellent article! This drama is about two teenage girls and their families, and the consequences of their decisions.
What a crative way to spread the truth at this time of the year. She said many have made decisions to follow Christ and they have had big crowds both nights of the performance.
Please feel free to share with us how you celebrate this holiday or a memory of your past celebrations.Diana Flegalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11373354354968232390noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2443765296489868573.post-7985196312565120002009-10-31T14:41:18.926-04:002009-10-31T14:41:18.926-04:00Katie;

As missionaries in Haiti over the Halloween period, we saw such devilish behavior we swore off celebrating even after returning to the states. Since he is grown up he has participated in parties where they dress up- last year he won 'best costume' for dressing as 'Waldo', made popular from the plethora of children's books that bear Waldos name. Joyce and I attend a church where we participate in a Harvest Party for the kids sans costume.

Jen,
Candy is a heavy persuasion for some:-) Dark Chocolate for me!!

Karen,
I am surprised to hear that about France custom as well. Our riverboat is decorated but I think that is maninly because there are so many Americans on board. My husband loves an excuse to buy candy--his favorites, of course--so he waits for the little T or T's and pretends to sigh in disappointment when they don't show up. Then he forces himself to eat the bowl of goodies!Jeanette Levelliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12898750484193832082noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2443765296489868573.post-88974057932104564912009-10-30T05:55:30.411-04:002009-10-30T05:55:30.411-04:00Interesting information!
